We contribute as a subcontractor or supplier with technical assistance, to the construction and repair of structures through GATU (Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan) zone. From engineering to the implementation of technical solutions on site and manufacture of products, we support each project with the same principles of excellence, innovation, performance and sustainability.
Our capabilities in new build
Incremental Launched Bridges – ILM Operations & PT works
Incremental Launched Method (ILM) can be summarized as follows:
Segments of comparable length are concreted in a formwork or assembled in an assembly area. Then, each segment is match-cast against the previous one and prestressed to the section of the deck already built. As segments are added and slided over special bearings, the increasing length of bridge deck is repeatedly pushed / pulled out of the formwork or assembly area by using various technological equipment, over the abutment onto the piers, to reach its final position. During launching operations, while the bridge passes over the piers tensioning tendons are used to reduce bending moments and increase durability.
Balanced Cantilever Bridge - PT works
Balanced Cantilever Bridge (BCB) is a type of bridge that uses cantilevers, which are beams anchored to only one end, to support the weight of the bridge deck.
BCB is typically used to span long distances where traditional bridge construction methods may not be feasible or cost-effective.
Segmental long span construction is ideally suited for post tensioning work. In this method a number of segments can be prestressed resulting in an integrated structure. Tensioning tendons for BCB improve structural integrity, reduce deflection or bending under traffic loads, increase durability (prevent cracking and other forms of damage that can occur over time).
Post-Tensioning Slabs
The idea behind implementing post-tension in slabs is to keep the concrete in compression. In this way, longer spans can be achieved due to tensioning force. Also, this force is very effective to prevent deflections. Moreover, post-tensioning offers direct cost reduction over conventionally reinforced slabs primarily by reducing concrete and rebar material quantities as well as rebar installation labor. By doing that, it has a significant impact on reducing the construction cycle.
Bearings & Seismic Protection – Isolators & Dampers
Freyssinet bearings are designed to ensure that loads are transferred between the superstructure and the substructure and that they enable movement and rotation of the superstructure. Freyssinet has developed a wide range of TETRON® bearings based on five designs: Elastomeric bearings, Pot bearings, Spherical bearings, Guide and restraint bearings, Linear rocker bearings.
Pioneer in the development of earthquake protection devices, Freyssinet offers a complete range of dedicated products and associated services marketed under the well-known ISOSISM® brand. As a Freyssinet, we use seismic protection devices in wide range of applications such as new structures, retrofitting of existing structures, Bridges and viaducts, industrial and energy facilities, heritage buildings, hospitals and schools.
Expansion Joint
Designed to span gaps between structural elements, expansion joints are necessary to absorb movement, accommodate shrinkage and creep effects, deformation under vehicle load and changes in temperature on concrete, steel or composite structures, particularly on bridge decks and traffic areas of buildings.
Freyssinet has been installing expansion joints all over the world for more than 50 years, on road and railway bridge decks as well as buildings. As a specialist, Freyssinet offers a full range of proven solutions. We propose thorough inspections and designs to determine the correct type of joint for your structure, followed by an expert installation and qualified maintenance services.
